Enhancing Safety and Awareness with Innovative Design

Common safety helmets often fail to provide complete protection, leaving workers vulnerable to potential hazards. Liu Mingde and his team recognized this issue and developed the EYE Safety Helmet, a groundbreaking solution that prioritizes worker safety and addresses the blind spots commonly found in traditional safety helmets.

The EYE Safety Helmet is equipped with an ultrasonic probe positioned at the top of the product. This innovative feature allows the helmet to detect larger dangerous objects that may be falling from above. When a potential hazard is detected, an alarm is triggered, alerting the worker through an earphone. This timely warning enables workers to promptly react and take necessary precautions, preventing potential injuries.

Unlike conventional safety helmets, the EYE Safety Helmet eliminates blind spots and ensures that workers are constantly aware of potential dangers above them. By incorporating cutting-edge ultrasonic technology, this helmet provides an added layer of protection and peace of mind for workers in hazardous environments.

The ultrasonic detector integrated into the helmet has a detection range of up to two meters. When an object is detected within this range, the earphone connected to the helmet emits an alarm, alerting the user to the potential danger. This seamless integration of technology and safety measures enhances worker safety and minimizes the risk of accidents.

The EYE Safety Helmet boasts dimensions of 230mm x 200mm x 140mm, ensuring a comfortable fit for workers of various head sizes. Its ergonomic design and lightweight construction make it suitable for prolonged use without causing discomfort or strain.

Developed by Liu Mingde and his team, including Zhang Junjie and Hu Chengcheng, the EYE Safety Helmet was meticulously designed and tested to meet the highest safety standards. The project was initiated in October 2016 at Wuhan University of Technology and was successfully completed in December 2016.

Extensive research went into the development of the EYE Safety Helmet. The team analyzed the height of construction sites, which typically reach around four meters, and the average height of workers, which is approximately 1.8 meters. By applying mathematical formulas and considering human reaction time, they determined that a stone falling on a person's head would take approximately 0.5 seconds. With this crucial information, they designed the helmet to provide immediate warnings within this time frame, ensuring workers have enough time to react and avoid potential injuries.

The EYE Safety Helmet has garnered recognition for its exceptional design and contribution to worker safety. In 2017, it was awarded the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Safety Clothing and Personal Protective Equipment Design category. This accolade acknowledges the helmet's ingenious design, which combines art, science, and technology to improve the quality of life for workers.
